Penny Post Team enter Race for Life 5k
Posted on Sep 27, 2021Seven of the Penny Post team are taking part in the Cancer Research 5K Race for Life at West Park in Wolverhampton on Sunday 10th October 2021. Matt, Jas, Hannah, Nicola, Helen, Charissa & Tanya will be lining up with 1000s of help raise money for research into all 200 types of cancer.
Race for Life 5k
The Race for Life 5k is a series of routes around the country that give people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities the chance to come together and show cancer who’s boss. They’re not races, or runs, and everyone wins the Race for Life (except cancer).
This is a 5k like no other. This is thousands of people uniting with one purpose. To come together. To raise money. To beat cancer.
Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK fund scientists, doctors, and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. After a year where vital cancer trials have been delayed, the Race for Life is more important than ever. Find out more about Cancer Research UK and the work they do here.
Team Update
The Penny Post Team, Matt, Jas, Hannah, Nicola, Helen, Charissa & Tanya, are back and raring to go after last year’s race was cancelled due to the pandemic. A diverse group with varying degrees of fitness, the Race for Life will be a personal challenge for each of our Team!
Earlier in the year, Charissa completed a 5K challenge for every month for 7 months to raise money for Centrepoint, whilst Helen has just completed a sponsored walk along Hadrian’s Wall in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Hopefully, the Race for Life 5k will be easy in comparison to Charissa & Helen’s previous challenges!
Hannah, with help from Miles, is sorting Penny Post Race for Life T-shirts, so if you’re attending on Sunday and you see the Penny Post Team in action, be sure to show your support!
Can you help us raise £800?
We’re hoping to raise £800 for this worthy cause, so if you’re able to sponsor any of the Team, we’d be very grateful. You can make a donation here! Cancer has touched so many of us, so please do donate if you can.
Make sure you look out for pictures of the Team in action on our Facebook & Twitter pages!
Good luck Matt, Jas, Hannah, Nicola, Helen, Charissa & Tanya! We’re so proud of you!
