Broadband providers can increase their prices mid-contract by the rate of inflation, this is usually set out in their T&C’s in the small print, but this often leaves many of us tied into contracts we aren’t happy with. So, what can we do about it?
Firstly, you should check your contract. Millions of customers are out of contract and free to leave. Firms such as Virgin Media, TalkTalk, Sky, and more household names simply roll their out of contract customers onto pricier tariffs, meaning they’re paying even more without them signing up for it! If you’re no longer tied into a contract with your broadband supplier you don’t have to put up with the price you’re paying, and you are free to go and take advantage of deals which tend to be for newbie customers. Comparing the deals available can help you pay less each month.
