Our Amazing Winning Good EggsPosted on Apr 30, 2020
Congratulations to our winning Good Eggs, Sam, Karen and Laura. A huge ‘thank you’ for everything you are doing to help others during these extraordinary times. Pictured above, from left to right are Laura, Sam & Karen.
At the beginning of April, we launched our Good Egg competition to celebrate all the good things that continue to happen every day in these challenging times and to recognise those going above and beyond to help others.
Reading through the stories has been very humbling – so many people are doing amazing things to help others in these extraordinary times. Every entry was special in its own way, and every nomination has received their own Good Egg Certificate as a small thank you from the Penny Post team, in recognition of their outstanding efforts.
Choosing our favourite 3 entries has been really difficult, but after much deliberation, Sam, Laura and Karen were selected by our judging panel and have each received a gift hamper.
Laura Snell lives in Saffron Walden, Essex and was nominated by Penny Post member, Victoria Peirson. Laura works as Union Rep at the Saffron Walden Delivery Office and is flat out dealing with colleagues’ issues, problems that arise as well as providing sanitising and protective supplies for colleagues and the office at her own expense.
Karen Clarkin lives in Belfast, Co. Antrim, and was nominated as a Good Egg by Penny Post member, Peter Johnston. Karen is providing invaluable support to the elderly, vulnerable and self-isolators in her community, doing their shopping, collecting medications, and checking on those unable to leave home.
Sam Oliver lives in Mexborough, South Yorkshire and was nominated by Penny Post member, Joanne Briggs. Sam is making face masks at home on this 3D printer, using his own money, to help NHS key workers. Below are pictures of Sam’s work.
Congratulations again to ALL our Good Eggs – you are amazing!
Keep up the good work, and stay safe everyone.
