Apprentices to Leaders

From Apprentices to Leaders! We’re proud that our first two apprentices are part of our leadership team!

Jas and Hannah joined Penny Post back in 2017 and have progressed throughout their journey with us, and they have been promoted to leadership roles – Jas is our Chief Operations Officer and Hannah is our Customer Service Team Leader! We’re so proud of their progress over the past 6 years!

In honour of National Apprenticeship Week 2023, we caught up with our first ever apprentices, Jas and Hannah, about how their apprenticeship helped to prepare them for the future and encouraged them develop into the leaders they are today.

Hannah

“I decided pretty quickly that university was not the path for me! I started my apprenticeship and gained incredible amounts of knowledge and confidence straight away. Since joining Penny Post, I have been working with our members directly, dealing with a range of tasks including telephone enquiries, managing new members, and overseeing deposits and withdrawals. Just last year I travelled to Colorado for a work trip and I know without completing my apprenticeship back in 2017, I wouldn’t have pushed myself this far! I now manage a team of 4 and I’m proud to say that they are all current or former apprentice’s too!”

Jas

“I joined Penny Post 6 years ago and haven’t looked back! I have grown so much personally and professionally. My apprenticeship helped with gain hands-on work experience, gave me opportunities I had never dreamt of such as travelling to Romania and across the UK, and expanded my networks globally! I am grateful for the opportunities, and skills and knowledge I have gained as a result of my apprentice and I am looking for what’s still to come!”
