Rowland Hill Fund Spring Gala

Earlier this month, our Vice President, Graham Jones, and Learning & Development Officer, Helen Nuttall, were pleased to represent Penny Post at the Rowland Hill Fund Spring Gala. Pictured are Graham and Helen with Jess the Cat and Rolan Bear!

For 26 years, Penny Post has served Royal Mail Group employees and we’re proud to be a ‘Special Delivery Partner’ of the Rowland Hill Fund, a charity that helps postal people in their time of need. “Members are at the heart of everything we do, so it’s important to us to support a charity which provides invaluable help to postal people.” said Matt Goulding, Penny Post CEO.

Originally scheduled for Autumn 2021, but delayed until March due to the pandemic, some 110 attendees joined the Rowland Hill Fund Trustees at the Phoenix Centre on Royal Mail’s Mount Pleasant site for the first in-person event for over 2 years.

The Spring Gala was a chance to recognise and thank the many incredible fundraisers and supporters who went above and beyond to enable the Fund to support more colleagues than ever before. Over the last year the Fund has increased grant spending by 51% (487 beneficiaries) with grants issued totalling £824k. The Spring Gala is an important opportunity to say thank you to colleagues and volunteers for their fundraising efforts as individuals or teams, and for helping to raise awareness of the Fund across the country. “The Gala was a very interesting event which highlighted the valuable and much needed work done by the Rowland Hill Fund,” said Helen. “It was good to meet fellow supporters and listen to the various fundraising ideas”. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, sponsors and attendees, the Gala raised over £7000, a record-breaking total.
