Posted on Oct 19, 2021Great news! Penny Post has been shortlisted in 3 categories at the Black Country Chamber Business Awards 2021. These Awards recognise and celebrate the ingenuity, determination and successes of our region’s businesses.
Jas Kaur is a finalist in the ‘Exceptional Employee or Team’ category. She started her career in Penny Post 4 years ago as one of our first apprentices and has had a significant impact on bringing about major changes. Jas has networked with credit unions around the UK and in Romania, and won the Tracy Slane Award in 2020, presented each year to a young person who has made an outstanding contribution to their credit union and/or to the wider movement.
Jas has been responsible for introducing new methods for enhancing customer experience, and has been promoted twice – firstly to Customer Service Team Leader, and this year became a member of the senior management team when she gained promotion to Chief Operations Officer. Jas was shortlisted in the Young Person or Apprentice of the Year category at the 2019 Black Country Chamber Awards – fingers crossed that she wins in 2021!!
Graham Jones is a finalist in the ‘Director’ category and is one of the original board members who founded Penny Post Credit Union 25 years ago. Graham is a voluntary director, working tirelessly for the business, offering his expertise and wealth of business knowledge. His enthusiasm and energy is infectious, and it is fitting to know that he has been shortlisted this year – on our 25th anniversary year.
The 3rd category we have been shortlisted for is ‘Best Small Business’, open to Black Country businesses with less than 50 employees.
“This is a great achievement to be nominated in this category” says Penny Post CEO, Matt Goulding. “Thanks to teamwork, enthusiasm and sheer determination we have delivered uninterrupted services to members across the UK. Not one minute of opening time has been lost. From the many kind words, comments and messages of support from members, we know we have made a positive contribution to our community during these difficult times.”
The winners will be announced on 11th November 2021. Good luck Jas, Graham & everyone at Penny Post!
